To the press and the
public opinion

Our region, the Middle East, is going
through an important change. Day after day
the events unfolding show us that
nationalism and anti-democratic positions
are the main actors behind the
confrontations, leaving us in an impasse
without any hope for a solution to the
problem.
The only correct position to adopt in the
region is the one that follows the
principles of dialogue and democracy with
respect for all the religious and national
differences that form a part of the modern
democracy.
We know that the main problem, that has a
major effect on all the other problems in
the region, is the Kurdish one. In the
countries where the Kurdish problem exists,
the politics of oppression of the Kurdish
population significantly reinforces the
anti-democratic forces of the region.
Otherwise, the solution of the Kurdish
problem can function as a catalyst for the
further democratisation of the region.
As a movement we have demonstrated many
important efforts and achieved much in the
search for a democratic solution of the
Kurdish problem. To obtain this objective,
our Leader issued proposals and appeals on
several occasions. Despite the fact that our
efforts have never received an adequate
response, they didn’t fall without result.
On the contrary, our efforts created
important developments in the understanding
of the Kurdish problem and its importance
within the regional situation.

The Kurdish people's leader, Abdullah Ocalan,
called for a ceasefire from the PKK during a
weekly meeting with his lawyers. Ocalan said,
"Let us all together take the weapons out of
Turkey and the Middle
East as the only problem-solving method.
Let's bury the weapons."
The Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Ocalan,
who remains in solitary confinement on the
island prison of Imrali, called for a
ceasefire through his lawyers. Ocalan said
that, since 1993, the PKK leadership
had called four unilateral ceasefires as an
answer to the need of
solving the Kurdish issue in a peaceful and
democratic way, without
violence.
THE ASSASSINATION ORGANISATION OF THE
DEEP STATE: TIT

The bomb explosion in Diyarbakir-Baglar on
12 September, on which 10 humans live, under
it 7 children around came, brought large
shaking with itself. The actual shock
however developed itself, after the ‘Turkish
Revenge Brigade TIT’ to the attack well-known.
TIT had submerged after 1980, in the
connection on numerous attacks. Only 2006
were shaken again Turkey/Kurdistan by
actions of the TIT. The TIT left again by
the attack on the meeting of the council
from 17 May 2006 and by threatening letters
to the branch Istanbul of the IHD (Human
Right Association), with the label ‘don’t
forget me’ about itself to talk again. Due
to the threatening letters, which brew
powders contained, fallow panic in the
branch out and 7 co-workers of the IHD had
to be examined from suspicion on spleen fire
exciters in the hospital.
It was based in the student hostel
It was always a discussion topic, where the
TIT, which does not have a name, however was
discoverable, was created.
With the attack on a convoy in Gabar/Giręcotyar
3 soldiers had been killed and 4 had been
wounded.
With another action in Sirnak in the area
Gundikę Melę was attacked a military vehicle
Reo. With the attack the military vehicle
was completely destroyed. 4 soldiers died,
and 2 were hurt.
The notorious Turkish ultra-nationalist
terrorist group ‘Turkish Revenge Brigade’ (Turkish:
“Turk Intikam Tugayi”, “TIT”) claimed on
their homepage responsibility for the bomb
attack outside a family park in the Baglar
district of Amed (Diyarbakir) in northern
Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey). The blast
killed seven Kurdish children and three
adults. Another 13 people were wounded, of
them two seriously.

WE WİLL REMAİN AT THE CASE
Together with the declaration for a
democratic solution of the Kurdish question
on the part of the KKK (Kurdistan Democratic
Confederalism) a phase was introduced, which
excited large attention in the public.
Different circles of democrats, human rights
activists, peace activists as well as
artists and intellectual ones tried to
deepen by the own Angangement, this phase.
In a time in that the public strongly over a
democratic solution discusses, and a
solution deepened it to deter is for us
rather obvious to expectations regarding
such, who kills innocent humans above all
children in Diyarbakir, a massacre exercises
and the public tries. Obviously why this
bomb attack was exercised now and is there.
HPG War Balance for August 2006

The engagements of the last days again
showed that the problems
of
the people of the Middle East must be
urgently solved. In a historical context and
on the basis of a new paradigm of our
chairman Abdullah Ocalan developed several
times projects, which would represent a
solution for the peoples of the Middle East.
During the last discussion with lawyers on
09.08.2006, he mentioned again on 1st
September, which world peace day could begin
a new phase. In the connection on this
explanation, present that to Executive
Council of the KKK (Kurdistan Democratic
Confederalism) on 23 August of this yearly,
a declaration "for the democratic solution
of the Kurdish question". The readiness for
a peaceful solution was explained by this
declaration again.
This ‘Declaration for a Democratic
Resolution for the Kurdish Question’ is a
road map for peace between Turkey and the
Kurdish Freedom Movement declared by Koma
Komalen Kurdistan on August 20, 2006. It
includes six demands from the Kurdish side
crucial for a peaceful and democratic
solution of the Kurdish question in northern
Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey.)

The
Middle East as a geographical region where
there is heightened conflict continues to
dominate the world’s agenda. Although this
could be due to it being a place where the
world system was formed, the main reason is
due to the region not having democratizing.
When a democratic culture is not fully
developed, society and political forces are
not respecting of the rights of each other,
hence the results are conflicts. The reason
and basis for the intervention of foreign
forces is due to the fact that the political
systems in the region are not democratic.
One of the fundamental reasons why the
Middle East cannot democratize is the fact
that the Kurdish question remains left
unresolved. This question is not resolved at
the fundamental level, hence all the efforts
to solve other issues in the region are
ineffective and cannot bring stability.
The responsibility for the question being
left unresolved lies with both the
international and regional forces. As a
consequence, the Kurdish people have
suffered grievously. However, the forces
that are dominant over Kurdistan have not
attained peace.
